Yes, another Bible storybook, and one worth considering. takes a refreshing approach to telling the familiar stories. Author Diane Stortz has chosen forty stories, pairing a name for God with each one. Beginning with “Creator-Elohim†and ending with “King of Kings,†the 40 names constitute the titles for each of the sections, along with a statement about that attribute of God.
Each chapter includes the Bible story itself with the Scripture reference, followed by a “What does it mean?†devotional and a prayer. A “Learn More†section often points to the future hope and fulfillment of the story. Each chapter ends with “What Happens Next?â€â€”effectively setting the stage for the next story. The strength of the text compensates for the somewhat predictable illustrations. Recommended for ages 4 through 10 for use in family devotions, church, or school. (Thomas Nelson)
