Sometimes a listener will hear a new song on the radio, enjoy it, and anticipate the upcoming artistās album. That scenario characterizes what happened to me in regards to Unspokenās āReason.ā The first single off the record, āJust Give Me Jesus,ā declares he is the only person/thing the believer needs. The title cut, āReason,ā states in the first line: āThis yearās felt like four seasons of winter,ā a declaration of lifeās struggles. Other solid songs include, āYouāve Always Beenā and āIf We Only Knew.ā All of the songs on the album come out of personal and band hardships. The record is vulnerable and filled with hope in God. The music consists of bouncy, soulful pop, and sweet harmonies infused with gospel and Latin tones. All the songs involve common Christian struggles and offer practical theology without being āpreachy.ā This album speaks to the heart and soul and gives one comfort and encouragement.
