Minneapolis, Minn.-based River Valley Worship keeps making powerful music, and its fourth album, āAltars,ā testifies again to divine power. The project features 13 songs mostly based upon Scripture and over an hourās worth of encouraging listening. āAltarsā was born as a result of a letter a visiting missionary sent to worship leader Ryan Williams. In part, it said: āRyan, you have to realize that when you step on a platform or stage, youāre stepping on an altar.ā The music includes high-energy tunes such as āFuture,ā āLove that Lasts,ā and āBoth Sides,ā and quieter songs, including āLet It be Jesus.ā āBoth Sidesā references Jesusā resurrection and the chorus states: āNo stone, no grave / Can hold back Your power / No lie, no chain / Can hold back Your love / Every knee will bow, And everyone will know / Youāre King on both sides of the stone.ā This recording provides great hope and will delight the heart of its listeners.
