Caroline Cobbā€™s ā€œA Seed, A Sunrise: Advent to Christmas Songsā€ provides a welcome alternative to traditional Christmas music. Based on Scripture, particularly in the Old Testament, these selections prepare the listener for the anticipation of Christā€™s coming and his actual coming. ā€œMy prayer is that these songs will be a needed balm for us, giving voice to both the desperate cry, ā€˜How long, O Lord?ā€™ and to the unwavering hope we have in Jesus,ā€ Cobb said in a release. ā€œLonging and hope are not mutually exclusive. We need both right now.ā€ The music reflects a folk, bluegrass feel. ā€œLift Up Your Head, Be on the Lookoutā€ is a catchy tune filled with hope. The chorus says, ā€œLift up your head; Be on the lookout; Wake from Your Bed; Donā€™t fall asleep; Lift up your head; Heā€™s cominā€™ soon now; Get yourself ready; For the cominā€™ of the King.ā€ Another celebration song, ā€œHallelujah Christ is Born,ā€ says in the chorus, ā€œHallelujah, Christ is born! Hallelujah, the Savior of the World; This is the One weā€™ve waited for; Hallelujah, Christ is born; Hallelujah, Christ is born.ā€ This music offers joy to the heart. (Integrity Music)
