New Christian artist Anne Wilson rocketed up the music charts with her first single, ā€œMy Jesus,ā€ and the selection now serves as the headliner on the five-song EP titled My Jesus (Live from Nashville). The record features two other previously released songs, ā€œDevilā€ and ā€œSomething About that Name,ā€ plus a cover for ā€œBoondocksā€ by the country group Little Big Town. The lone new song is ā€œNo Place Like Home,ā€ a tribute to Wilsonā€™s brother Jacob who died in a car accident at 23. The selection ā€œMy Jesusā€ comes from the 19-year-oldā€™s journal where she always refers to Jesus as ā€œMy Jesusā€ when discussing her relationship with him. Itā€™s an invitation for others to experience Jesus like Wilson. The chorus says in part: ā€œHe makes a way where there ainā€™t no way; Rises up from an empty grave; Ainā€™t no sinner that he canā€™t save; Let me tell you ā€˜bout my Jesus.ā€ The sound spells country as two of Wilsonā€™s biggest influencers are Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. So grab your cowboy hat and boots and settle in for a fresh voice that possesses wondrous potential. (Capitol Music Group)
