The girlsā€™ basketball team of Immanuel Christian School in Lethbridge, Alberta, won the provincial championship in its division for the third year in a row. Many of the girls belong to Christian Reformed churches in the Lethbridge area.

The girls strongly support each other, explained head coach Wendy Procee, a member of Maranatha CRC in Lethbridge. ā€œThat was our goalā€”to stay together. This is an amazing team, and everything just came together. It is quite a blessing.ā€

The team played its championship game against Edmonton (Alberta) Christian School.

Immanuel Christianā€™s athletic director, Duane Konynenbelt, believes the success of the program can be credited to all the coaches, parents, and athletes in their community. ā€œThey understand that Christian schools need strong co-curricular programs that allow students to use and develop all the gifts that God has given them,ā€ he said.
