Synod Delegates Eating a Lot . . . of Vegetables

Image:

It takes a lot of food to keep Christian Reformed Church synod delegates happy. Three hundred pounds of pork at Saturdayā€™s picnic. Ten gallons of scrambled eggs every morning. Two-hundred-forty desserts per coffee breakā€”all gone, every time.

In fact, delegates to the annual leadership meeting eat about twice as much per person as Dordt College students do, according to the collegeā€™s executive chef, Nick Lawrence.

The good news is that synod delegates also consume twice as many vegetables per capita when compared to the collegeā€™s students. ā€œYou guys are eating more vegetables than I expected,ā€ said Lawrence. ā€œI had to put in an extra order.ā€

Synod 2015 is meeting at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, from June 12-18. For continuous Banner coverage, please follow The Banner Magazine on or on Twitter.
