The Council of Delegates of the Christian Reformed Church has endorsed consolidating, , and, all currently under the umbrella of Raise Up Global Ministries, into, the CRC’s mission agency. The Council committee recommending the consolidation noted that both ministries have the mobilization of ministry leaders as a primary focus. The consolidation will help them operate better together.
The three ministries, which merged in 2017 and came to be known as Raise Up in 2018, are all programs that develop specific-purpose adult education materials in a variety of languages to serve the global church.
According to the Raise Up website, provides training for educators in Latin America, Asia, and Africa to improve their teaching skills where they might otherwise not have the time or resources to do so.
provides training for pastors where the growth of the Christian community is outstripping the availability of trained leaders. The training is accessible in 30 languages.
provides materials and training for small group leaders to help Christians learn more about the Bible within a small community. Started in 1970 as a morning coffee break Bible study in North American churches, the program now has small groups around the world in several languages.
Sam Huizenga, current director of Raise Up, will continue to provide oversight and strategic direction of the three ministry initiatives within Resonate.
The consolidation is expected to be in place by Jan. 1, 2023.
