Wen gave her life to the Lord wholeheartedly, even quitting her job to serve in a church.
But because of the lack of biblically sound resources in China, she had a lot of misconceptions about what it meant to be a believer.
āHer beliefs were not grounded in Godās Word,ā said Jean Chen, Chinese program producer for . āThey were twisted in her fellow manās teaching.ā
Many of Wenās misconceptions came from the Internet, so believers in China must be especially careful when using web resources. Still, church leaders point to BTGMI websites as a trusted source.
When BTGMIās Chinese ministry team visited China, they invited Wen to one of their conferences. The team shared resources from āBible and Women,ā the outreachās newest radio program and website designed to encourage women just like Wen.
āThe site reaches young women as well as professional women in China who are struggling to balance their professional, family, and church life,ā explained Rev. Jimmy Lin, Chinese ministry leader.
After discovering āBible and Women,ā Wen approached Jean and said that she had been dealing with depression and family issues. Jean used her skills to counsel Wen and connected her with a local church leader who would provide ongoing spiritual counsel.
āWe are thankful that the Lord has provided our āBible and Womenā ministry with a producer who has a masterās degree in biblical counseling,ā added Rev. Lin.
The BTGMI Chinese team also met other women who have benefited from āBible and Women.ā Na said that she had never seen the Internet as a place of biblical truth until she discovered our resources.
āNa often ran to the Internet for entertainment or escape,ā explained Jean. āNow she uses the āBible and Womenā website and social media as a source of Godās nourishment and real spiritual life.ā
After returning from their trip to China and connecting with their listeners on a personal level, Jean and the other outreach team members feel renewed in their work.
