It’s risky to anoint Amy Grant’s as her best ever, but the work certainly belongs in the conversation. Grant hasn’t offered a studio album in 10 years, and she has lots to say about her learned life lessons.

This work touches on the pain of watching her mother die in 2011 from dementia complications as well as her son’s loss of a college buddy in an auto accident. It touches on victory with the anthem-like “Deep as It Is Wide,” which celebrates the gathering of believers from the nations.

Grant provides an impressive lineup of musical friends on this project, including James Taylor, Carole King, Sheryl Crow, and Eric Paslay. Fans and new listeners alike will appreciate it. (Sparrow)
