The Felix Culpa, the āhappy fault, which merited to us so great a Redeemerā has been in Christian literature since St. Augustine (and probably before). Singer/songwriter Audrey Assad uses this phrase and Godās great grace and goodness as the basis for her latest album, . To drive the point home, these 11 songs, including āFortunate Fall,ā āO Happy Fault,ā and āFelix Culpa,ā consider in simple, but not simplistic, language the joy of receiving grace. Clearly this is an album with a singular lyrical theme.
The beautifully produced record is driven by piano and vocals. While the whole album is excellent, the song āGood to Meā stands out as a wonderful testament to Godās goodness. It is the sort of song you want to hear again as soon as it is finished. (Fortunate Fall)
